LG 4020B DVD Burner Problems

I recently purchased this drive since it was down in price now that new models are coming out. However, it had trouble recognizing one CD-R disc (was able to read it the next day) and on the one DVD that I burned it is unable to read two files so far. I thought the days of making coasters were over but now I am considering returning it and waiting for something more reliable to come out. Maybe I will purchase a Pioneer or Plextor unit next time. Meanwhile my first DVD purchase/return will have cost me close to $80 and many hours of wasted time.

I´ve had this drive since end of april and done 120+ DVD:s, this far I´ve got two coasters.
Once I was to blame and the second time there was a scratch on the disc.

I´m VERY happy with this drive, do you know that it is a good drive for game backup!? I believe it is the only DVD burner that does correct EFM, that means it is good for backing up SafeDisc.
