CDRLabs DVD Writer Poll - April 2008

Vote for what you think is the best, all around DVD writer. By doing so, you'll hopefully help those looking to buy a new drive. Once again, I tried to chose original drive designs that are currently available or will be soon.

Feel free to leave comments and an explanation as to why you voted the way you did. Also, if there's a drive you'd like to see added to the poll, let me know.

For reference, here's the top drives from March's poll:

2. (tied) Pioneer DVR-112/DVR-112D/DVR-A12 and Pioneer DVR-115/DVR-115D/DVR-A15
3. (tied) Lite-On LH-20A1S/LH-20A1L, LG GSA-H62N/GSA-H62L, LG GH20N/GH20L and Pioneer DVR-215/DVR-215D/DVR-S15

The last few months have been pretty slow as far as new drives go. Thankfully, the 22x DVD writers from Samsung and LG should be showing up over the next month or two.

I didn't remove any drives this month. However, these will probably be dropped from next month's poll. The Pioneers still get a good number of votes but they're getting harder to find.

I'm not sure who I'm going to vote for this month. The SH-S203N I'm using right now isn't living up to my SH-S203B. I guess I'll have to vote LG as I haven't had a Pioneer in the 'Labs for nearly a year.

I still wonder about the many votes for Samsung, on german fora they are no competitor for Pioneer, LG, Optiarc or Liteon.
