Philips & Lite-On Digital Solutions (PLDS), the US distributor for Plextor and Lite-On optical disc drives, announces new products from both Plextor and Lite-On to be featured at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in the PLDS Suite at the Bellagio.
Plextor introduces its next generation of Solid-State Drives supporting the new high-speed SATA 6Gb/s interface with read speeds of up to 400MB/s, making it one of the fastest 2.5-inch SSD in the market today. This high performance SSD is a perfect data storage solution for power users, gamers, system integrators and industrial applications such as medical or government sectors. The Plextor SSD 6Gb/s will be available in capacities of 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB, and will be shipped to the nearest e-tailers and retailers during the first quarter of 2011.

Also highlighted is the Plextor’s newly-improved 12X external Blu-ray writer, PX-LB950UE. The PX-LB950UE has been redesigned to improve user’s experience and performance with additional added media compatibility. This drive features the all-new Superspeed USB 3.0 and eSATA connections in one drive, providing bandwidth for blazing fast data transfer rate and shorten burn time. The drive is backward compatible with USB 2.0, which provides more flexibility to users. The PX-LB950UE will be available in the first quarter of 2011.

Lite-On is proud to introduce its two latest products which support 3D playback – the ultra fast high performance eHBU212 12X External Blu-ray Writer and iHES212 12X Internal Blu-ray combo.
The eHBU212 features the Superspeed USB 3.0 at a 12X write speed. The eHBU212 is a feature-rich external 12X external BD Writer with 3D playback support, LightScribe technology, and patented Smart-Burn and Smart-X. This drive is capable of recording massive storage capacity of up to 50GB on a double layer BD-R disc. Housed in an external case, this drive provides easy USB connection for any notebook, netbook, or PCs.
The iHES212 12X BD Combo provides movie enthusiasts with an affordable alternate solution to complete their media center. With the iHES212, users can experience exceptional picture and sound quality, and has the ability to share personal creations of data files, presentations, home videos and other image files on DVDs or CDs.
Also highlighted is the recently released eNAU608, 8X External DVD writer with interchangeable cover, which will also be demonstrated in the suite. The eNAU608 offers users complete personalization of the device and disc. The clear interchangeable top cover design allows users to personalize the drive by inserting fun and colorful artwork using the included inserts or the included basic software utility to design one’s own insert. The external DVD writer is no longer an ordinary device. It can accentuate your daily workflow.
