Sony's newest memory cards supporting the XQD™ specification are the fastest ever developed, with read and write speeds of 168 MB/s. The new "S Series" is perfect for professional photography applications where high performance and blazing fast image capture are critical, such as sports and live events.
Sony's S Series cards are based on the XQD memory card specification, which the CompactFlash Association approved and licensed as an open format. A unique controller and optimized flash memory enables high-speed data processing, resulting in faster write speed and performance that surpass the maximum interface speed of CF cards (167 MB/s). Transfer speeds may vary and are dependent on the host device.
The new cards are available in 32 and 64 GB capacities and expand Sony's XQD line, joining the acclaimed H Series, recognized by the Technical Image Press Association with a 2012 award for "Best Imaging Storage Media." Unigen Corporation, a leading OEM designer and manufacturer of enterprise-grade flash storage, DRAM, and wireless communication modules, today announced the launch of its 6Gb/s mSATA and mini mSATA solid state drive modules for embedded applications.
The modules are available in three models. The Unigen Model 2202 and 2204 feature high random access performance, while Model 2512 is optimized for incompressible data or multimedia files such as video, image, and audio files. These new SSD modules will be available for shipment in August 2012.
With sequential read/write speeds up to 500 MB/s and 4K random read/write speeds up to 60,000 IOPS, the new mSATA devices will enable embedded systems to break through the bandwidth limitations imposed by 3Gb/s SATA and other often used solutions like USB or CompactFlash™ cards.

Corsair, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC hardware market, today announced the Force Series GS solid-state drives (SSDs). The new SSDs, which offer the fastest overall performance in Corsair's SandForce®-based lineup, will initially ship in capacities of 180GB and higher. As with other Force Series drives, the Force Series GS SSDs are based on the SandForce SF-2200 SSD Processor, but add toggle NAND flash memory to boost random write speeds up to an amazing 90,000 IOPs.
The Force Series GS SSDs feature SATA 6Gb/s connectivity for compatibility and performance, TRIM support to maintain performance over time, and lower power operation for longer battery life.
